There’s a certain smell to the autumn as summer moves on.
It’s rich, and it’s sweet.
A parting gift from the leaves. Their final exhale.
It evokes sights and sounds as it comes.
Yellow, red, orange, and brown.
Leaves falling gently and hitting the ground.
It’s good to sit and remember the vibrant green of days past.
And be grateful for each season as long as it lasts.
For in time each one ends to let another begin.
And we know we’ll always see the summer again.
